New Barnet Amateur Gardeners & Floral Art Society (the “Society”) maintains strict controls over your personal data in compliance with the General Data Protection Regulations.

The information is provided by you on a voluntary basis and will be used by the Society on the basis of its legitimate interest - to maintain membership records, to distribute information such as Show and Meeting Schedules, to communicate with you  - in connection with its activities as a garden and floral arts society, including where we work with other organisations such as garden clubs, the RHS, NAFAS.

We may retain the information for up to 2 years after you cease to be a member. Not providing this information may adversely affect the Society’s ability to carry out the purposes for which we intend to use the information.

You have the following rights under data protection legislation: to access a copy of the information comprised in your personal data; to object to the use of your personal data if it is likely to cause or is causing damage or distress; to prevent its use for direct marketing; to object to decisions being taken by automated means (this is not done by by the Society); in certain circumstances, to have inaccurate personal data rectified, blocked, erased or destroyed and to claim compensation for damages caused by a breach of data protection legislation. If you have any concerns or complaints in relation to how the Society collects and / or uses your personal data, you should contact one of the Co-Chairs in the first instance. If you are dissatisfied with how your concern/complaint is dealt with by the Society, you have the right to report your concern/complaint to the Information Commissioner’s Office (www.ico.org.uk)
